AWS Region Nearest to Bangladesh: Latency & What It Means

TiCON Cloud Team· AWS Advanced Tier Partner· May 30, 2026· 6 min read

AWS does not yet operate a data center inside Bangladesh, but you can still run fast, production workloads. The key is choosing the nearest region and designing for latency where it counts.

Which region is closest?

The nearest AWS regions are in Asia Pacific — Mumbai is typically the lowest-latency choice for Dhaka, with Singapore and Hong Kong as alternatives. For most web and application workloads, the difference is a few tens of milliseconds.

When latency matters (and when it doesn't)

  • Real-time and gaming workloads: choose the lowest-latency region and use CloudFront at the edge.
  • Web apps and APIs: a nearby region plus CDN caching is usually more than enough.
  • Batch, analytics, and storage: region latency rarely matters.

How TiCON helps

We benchmark regions for your workload, put CloudFront in front for edge delivery (with reseller discounts), and keep data-residency requirements documented — all billed in BDT.
