How to choose between AWS, Azure and Google Cloud

TiCON designs, migrates and operates workloads on all three. This page explains how to choose. It does not rank the three clouds, and it does not publish a price comparison, because list prices and commitment discounts change. The number that matters is the one on your own bill.

Nearest regions and where your data may live

The three clouds publish their regions on their own infrastructure pages, and that list is the record. Choose the region closest to your users, then check that the region can hold the data your rules require. Where no provider runs a region in your market, the usual choice is a neighbouring region, and the contract must say so.

For AWS, TiCON's usual regions are Mumbai (ap-south-1) and Singapore (ap-southeast-1). For Azure, the regions are Central India (Pune), South India (Chennai), West India (Mumbai) and Southeast Asia (Singapore). For Google Cloud, they are asia-south1 (Mumbai), asia-south2 (Delhi) and asia-southeast1 (Singapore). Ping times depend on your network and are not published here.

Start regulated data from the data, not the vendor. List where each data class must live and which rules apply, as applicable in your jurisdiction. Then shortlist the vendors whose regions pass, and let the security review choose between them.

Compare cost honestly:

• Price the same workload on each cloud, with the same regions, commitment term and support level. Compare workloads, not list-price pages.

• Commitment discounts (AWS Savings Plans, Azure reservations, Google Cloud committed use discounts) depend on the term, the payment option and how steady the load is. Treat any percentage as an estimate until your own bill confirms it.

• TiCON's planning ranges come from its own records. On AWS, compute and storage through its reseller terms are typically 15–35% below AWS list, and CloudFront bandwidth can be up to 40% lower. These are estimates, not quotes, and they apply only where the contract includes them.

This page does not rank the three clouds, does not name a cheapest one, and does not promise a price, a discount or SLA minutes. Contracts describe SLA minutes; marketing pages describe coverage.

How you pay: the criterion that logos hide

Billing path can decide the choice as much as the service list does. Ask each vendor how usage is billed: through the partner, or directly to your own account, and in which currency. Put the answer in the contract.

TiCON resells AWS and invoices that usage through its partner terms, where local-currency billing exists in Bangladesh. Elsewhere, engagements are in USD and quote-based. Azure and Google Cloud work at TiCON is architecture, migration and operations, and the invoice currency for those clouds follows the Microsoft or Google agreement. Taxes apply as applicable in your jurisdiction and the contract.

Decision guide by workload

Start from the workload, not from a blog that crowns a winner.

  • Mixed estate, web and elastic traffic. Usually AWS first. Its managed compute, databases, queues and content delivery (Amazon CloudFront) cover most application shapes under one account model. Fits best with several product teams, spiky traffic and a wide mix of services.
  • Microsoft-centric estate. Usually Azure first when Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Windows Server and SQL Server already carry the business. Hybrid identity with on-premises Active Directory is a common reason. Check Microsoft licensing terms before you move, because licensing can change the cost more than the instance price.
  • Data, analytics and ML-first product. Usually Google Cloud first when BigQuery or Vertex AI is the product, not a side project. Transactional systems can stay where they already run. A split by design is fine; a split by accident is not.
  • Regulated or in-country data. Read residency first, then choose the vendor. No provider's region is a substitute for a documented residency decision.

Multi-cloud, when it is worth it. Two clouds mean two bills, two identity systems and two sets of tooling. It is worth it when one workload clearly fits another cloud better, for example an application on AWS that feeds BigQuery. If the only reason is preference, stay with one cloud.

Partners: check the record, not the badge

  • AWS: TiCON is an AWS Advanced Tier Partner (Services). Listing ID 0010h00001cA3jpAAC, verifiable on the AWS Partner Solutions Finder.
  • Azure: TiCON is a delivery partner for architecture, migration and operations. It does not claim a Microsoft Solutions Partner designation or a CSP number. Check the Microsoft partner directory by legal name. If no listing exists, we say so.
  • Google Cloud: TiCON is a delivery partner for architecture, migration and operations, including BigQuery, Vertex AI and GKE work. It does not claim a Partner Advantage tier. Check the Google Cloud partner directory.

Each cloud has its own directory, and a badge on a company website is self-published. Use the directory as the record.

Named references across our work: in Korea, Busan Metro, KEPCO KDN, HD Telecom and GSpider; in South Asia, United Commercial Bank (UCB), Banglalink Digital Communications, Rabbithole, Bangladesh Television (BTV) and OnnoRokom. Read them as scope examples, not as proof for your workload.

Frequently asked questions

Which cloud is best?

None is best in general. Choose the one that fits the workload you will run. AWS suits a broad mixed estate, Azure suits Microsoft-centric estates, and Google Cloud suits data and ML-first products.

Which cloud is the cheapest?

List prices are workload-specific and they move, so this page does not compare them. Compare the same workload on each cloud, with the same commitment and support terms.

Can I use more than one cloud?

Yes, when there is a reason, for example AWS for the application and Google Cloud for BigQuery. Multi-cloud without a reason is two bills and two identity systems.

Which cloud is best for data and AI?

Google Cloud publishes BigQuery and Vertex AI as its strengths. AWS and Azure both have capable ML stacks. Pick the product you will actually run, then put it in a nearby region.

Can I pay Azure or Google Cloud in a local currency through TiCON?

TiCON's local-currency billing applies to AWS usage in Bangladesh. Azure and Google Cloud are architected and operated through TiCON, and their billing currency follows the Microsoft or Google agreement.
